MDM

man, the whole gill thing... what can i say. if i'm honest, nothing he had done previous to 'hackney flowers' moved me in the slightest - but here's the interesting thing - nothing, apart from a fashion spread in the NY Times magazine in which he used the flower overlay technique...

so yeah - hackney flowers - something refreshing, and a change from the large format lanscape/portrait craze that seems to be sweeping the world of fine art photography in tidal wave of 'sothness'. or should that be 'wannabe sothness'?

Did you know these areas (Hackney Wick etc) and are the sites of planned redevelopment in time for our grand Olympic folly? Not that they don't need some investment, but maybe not the way they have it planned. .

Incidentally, I'm in NY for couple of weeks and visited the Leica gallery yesterday to see the Richard Kalvar show. They're quoting your interview with RK from this blog on the invite etc. . but you probably knew that?

On the billboards, I will always remember the "the perfect place to meet people", simply a priceless caption on that image.
