Jeff Jacobson did recover from his cancer. He is teaching a workshop at the International Center of Photography this week, and I'm in his class. He is a wonderful guy, and has fabulous feedback photographically. Really enjoying the workshop with him. :)

This posting of yours is over a year old, but I read it today, looked up Jacobson, and found this:

http://www.lightstalkers.org/photographer-jeff-jacobson-battling-cancer---fundraiser

Another victim of America's appalling non-existing public health system?

It would be good to know he has survived/recovered.

Jeff Jacobson's latest book is called "Melting Point."

http://www.photoeye.com/templates/mshowdetailsbycat.cfm?catalog=TR206

He's another remarkable photographer. And for some reason copies of "My Fellow Americans," a fantastic book, can be had for pennies.

I'd seen the MFA paperback on Amazon but thought it was a case of mistaken identity because of how cheap it was. Shouldn't all fine art be horribly expensive? :)

Also apparently Jeff has another book either coming out or already published somehow:

http://www.mro.org/mr/archive/21-2/articles/youarehere.html

There is clearly a strong common theme of personal reportage in the group that includes Harbutt, Webb, Abigail Heyman, Joan Liftin and Jacobson and others. I've been trying to find more information on the Apeiron workshops and whether they still exist, or what has happened to them since. So far I'm still searching.
